What will the future hold?

How can I plan for what I don’t know is coming?

What will I need after my current needs are met?

The list goes on and on, companies much like people are always wondering what’s next and how can I better prepare for the challenges that might come my way? So we make plans and backup plans, it is no different when as a company you are looking to invest in new equipment and solutions to help make your production more efficient.

It is important that as a company you not only source a solution to tackle the problems of today, but to also research and plan for the problems of tomorrow. This isn’t always an easy task it is very hard to know how your production and product performance will track over the next 5-10 years, but not investing in a system or equipment that can handle the complete range of production growth can be a very time consuming and costly mistake.

The upgrade and the cost.

Like everything in life the better, faster, and more durable something is the more is cost, equipment and automation solutions are no exception.  When reviewing a solution based on your current needs it is important to look at the entire solution line and the cost range for what each brings to the table.

For example: if you are reviewing print, fold, and insert solutions for your order processing needs and your needs are only 15 cartons per minute and you find a solution that fits that need, you may want to take a moment and explore a solution that has the flexibly to offer you 15-25 cartons per minute.

Again covering your needs today and planning for your needs tomorrow. You may find that for a little more money your new solution can give you a better return on investment and for longer. That being said you can count that if you find something to do everything you need and more it will cost you MORE.

Output and speed isn’t the only options that need to be considered when planning your future needs. BIG factors to include are durably, quality, and reliability. Sure everyone wants to go fast and have maximum output but if the solution your sourcing handles your speeds but can’t handle the taxing, long continual hours of operation you need then any future plans will simply become future problems. The saying “you get what you pay for” can be a harsh reality when sourcing a less reliable, lower quality, system that can barely handle the needs of today let alone the needs of tomorrow.

Finding the perfect solution for your operation is never easy, and you never what to invest into a big elaborate solution that will not have a chance of reaching your ROI (return on investment). Providing tailored solutions the can give you options for your next document solution investment is what we do, call Baumfolder today and ask how we can help.Am I Missing Inefficiencies?
